Lora Zaiss
A pianist shaped by the Kodály tradition and the belief that music is a social experience.
Lora was born in 2007 and lives in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She has loved the piano since age five and began learning through the Kodály method, which emphasizes music as a social and cultural experience. She also explored music at the Utrecht choir school.
In 2017, Lora performed The Snowman with the Utrecht Youth Orchestra. In 2022 and 2024, she earned honorable mentions in the Prinses Christina Concours, the Dutch National Youth Music Competition. She has also attended summer programs in Europe and the 2024 Oberlin Piano Festival in Ohio.
Lora has studied with Henk Ekkel at the Academie voor Muzikaal Talent in Utrecht since 2020. She has found her performances in senior centers especially rewarding.
