Jenny Sun
A guzheng performer connecting traditional Chinese music with community service in Calgary.
Jenny began learning guzheng in second grade. The instrument has connected her with traditional Chinese culture while cultivating patience and perseverance.
She has performed on many occasions, including two appearances at the Calgary Fireworks Festival, where she experienced the interaction and resonance between performers and an audience.
Jenny also performs in local nursing homes. These concerts bring joy to older adults and have taught her how music can communicate warmth. She was honored to participate in a performance commemorating the 100th anniversary of Canada's Chinese Exclusion Act, deepening her understanding of Chinese history.
