Grace Lan
A pianist and community-minded founder who created Harmonic Tie to enrich lives across generations through music.
Grace began studying piano at the age of four and has studied with Ms. Shue-Fan Cheng, Ms. Elizabeth Borowsky, and Ms. Mila Filatova. She attends Hanover High School in Hanover, New Hampshire.
Grace has actively participated in competitions and earned top prizes, including first-place honors at the Manolov International Competition, South Florida International Piano Competition, Elite International Music Competition, and Young Artist Piano Competition, among others. She performed at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in 2019 and 2023 and at Kaufman Music Center in New York City in 2022.
She performed as a soloist with the Nashua Chamber Orchestra in 2019 and the Sempre Musick Orchestra in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, she participated in the Oberlin Piano Festival and the 18th Music Without Borders International Piano Festival.
Grace has a deep passion for performing in her community. After witnessing seniors struggle with isolation during the pandemic, she founded Harmonic Tie in 2022 with a mission to enrich lives across generations through musical engagement.
Beyond piano, Grace is passionate about scientific research focused on the conservation of endangered orchids. She and her teammates were invited to present their research at the 23rd World Orchid Conference in Taiwan in 2024, where they received the Young Investigator Award.
